Experience Highlights

  • Performed first successful aortic dissection repair in Manipal
  • Series of high risk operations including VSR repairs and aortic aneurysm and dissection repairs
  • Established a mitral repair programme in the region – one of very few in the country
  • Performed nearly 1000 cardiac surgeries after returning back from the UK with about 2% overall mortality which is upto international standards- the last 300 cases with 1 % mortality
  • Started the minimally invasive cardiac surgery programme in the region
  • Improved level of patient care by improving communication and setting up regular clinics as well as initiatives like the INR register for patients on oral anticoagulation
